The Ghost in the Shell Franchise Instagram e X (precedentemente Twitter) Account hanno iniziato a caricare una serie di brevi video con The Laughing Man e un misterioso conto alla rovescia di 96 ore sabato sabato. Ogni video presentava immagini di Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 e la serie Ghost in the Shell Manga. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Completed tra gennaio 2024 e gennaio 2025. La serie segue i personaggi principali Motoko Kusanagi e i membri della sezione 9 della sicurezza pubblica mentre indagano sui crimini informatici e sui casi di terrorismo. L’incidente di Laughing Man è il caso generale che i personaggi stanno indagando nella serie.
È previsto un nuovo fantasma nella serie di anime Shell per il 2026. Science Saru produrrà la serie. Al momento della stampa, nessun personale o cast è stato annunciato per la prossima serie.
