; In precedenza ha recitato come Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass, un ruolo non dissimile dal suo lavoro attuale di Echika, il protagonista della tua forma. We sat down with her to discuss what draws her to investigative science fiction stories, how she crafted her role, and the appeal of Your Forma.
Congratulations on your role as Echika in Your Forma. Puoi presentarci il tuo personaggio? How would you describe her relationship with her robot partner, Harold?
KANA HANAZAWA: Echika has a genius-like quality and an air of solitude. Ha sempre una bella espressione, rendendola misteriosa e difficile da leggere. Harold, d’altra parte, è l’esatto contrario. È espressivo e coinvolgente in una conversazione, tanto che a volte dimentichi che è un amicus. He has a natural charisma that draws people in. At first glance, their partnership may seem mismatched, but considering Echika’s tendency to keep others at a distance, someone like Harold, who effortlessly gets close to people, might actually be a perfect match for her.
How did you convey Echika through your vocal performance? Are there unique elements of her that audiences can hear in her voice (such as being brash, a lower register, stoic, etc.)
HANAZAWA: I took a lot of inspiration from the original novel.
Reading the story from Echika’s perspective, I realized that, deep down, her heart is constantly in turmoil. Si basa fortemente sulle sue capacità e si spinge troppo forte, ignorando spesso i rischi. Because of that, I focused on portraying the subtle emotions hidden behind her calm exterior and carefully expressed the way she gradually opens up to Harold.
After starring as Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass, what attracted you to Your Forma, another sci-fi investigative series?
HANAZAWA: The story’s greatest appeal lies in its high-quality sci-fi Il mistero e la relazione in evoluzione tra Echika e Harold.
Un robot può avere un cuore? Che aspetto ha una relazione sana tra umani e robot? Through Echika and Harold’s heartfelt interactions, I feel like the story prompts us to reflect on these questions.
Is there an exciting or emotional moment that really made an impression on you?
HANAZAWA: The story progresses seriously, but thanks to Totoki-san, a cat lover, cats frequently appear, bringing moments of comfort. Quel gatto sembra così reale, ma in realtà è un robot! Since I have allergies to dogs and cats, I couldn’t help but think, “I could totally have that one!”—and I was a bit jealous.
What kind of questions or conversations do you hope Your Forma gets viewers to think about?
HANAZAWA: For fans of the original work, I’m sure you’re curious about how your beloved story has been brought to life in animation. Having seen it firsthand, I can say that the beautifully crafted electronic investigation sequences and Harold’s elegant movements are definitely something to look forward to!
For those experiencing the story for the first time through the anime, I believe you’ll be drawn in by the stunning animation, intriguing world-building, and engaging mystery. Per favore, goditi lo spettacolo!
