Previous Japanese inductees of the Eisner Hall of Fame include Osamu Tezuka (2002), Kazuo Koike (2004), Goseki Kojima (2004), Katsuhiro Otomo (2012), Rumiko Takahashi (2018), Moto Hagio (2022), dan Keiji Nakazawa (2024). Akira Toriyama and Naoki Urasawa were previously nominated in 2019, but were not among the inductees selected.
VIZ will release Ito’s latest manga collection, Moan: Junji Ito Story Collection, in October 2025.
