The official website of Kowloon Generic Romance has confirmed that the anime will be released on April 5, 2025.
A new trailer, key visual, and theme song details were revealed alongside the release date.
Japanese music group Wednesday Campanella will perform the opening theme song, “Summertime Ghost,” while singer-songwriter mekakushe will perform the ending theme, “Koi no Retronym” (A Retronym for Love).
Moreover, it was also revealed that Kengo Kawanishi has been cast as Yulong, a researcher investigating the mysteries surrounding Kowloon alongside Hebinuma.

Yoshiaki Iwasaki is directing the anime at Arvo Animation, with Jin Tanaka serving as the scriptwriter. Yuka Shibata is in charge of character designs, while Yuji Kaneko serves as the art director.
In addition to the anime adaptation, a live-action film was also announced.
Kowloon Generic Romance first debuted in Weekly Young Jump in 2019, with its chapters collected in 10 tankobon volumes as of October 2024.
